Three things you already know:

1. **The correlation between intentions and behaviour is modest**

1. **Intentions account for only around 30% of variance in behaviour**

1. **Past behaviour is a reliable predictor of future behaviour**

So, how can we help students to achieve their targets?  Well, the psychologist Peter Gollwitzer has the answer…  In short: getting students to identify **when** they will do their work and **where** they will do it is likely to *increase* the likelihood of success.
