November 2018 AQA English Language Walk-and-Talk Lecture Resources

Some unglamorous resources for a walk-and-talk style lecture on the English Language papers from November 2018 can be accessed here.  Not sure what the copyright rules are, so I haven’t included the papers themselves, but they can be accessed easily enough via eAQA.  The slides (and the other bits) should be simple to adapt.

In terms of delivery, I created one set of booklets for paper one and separate set for paper two (see picture).

AQA English Language

Here’s the printing order:

  1. Booklet cover page
  2. Basics sheet
  3. Insert
  4. Questions
  5. Scanned slides.

And here are the delivery instructions…

Paper 1 Instructions

  • Read the source
  • Breeze through Q1
  • Talk through Q2
  • Talk through Q3
  • Talk through Q4 and possibly get students to write a response based on the AQA-endorsed structure on slide 14.

Paper 2 Instructions

  • Read the sources
  • Breeze through Q1
  • Talk through Q3
  • Talk through Q4 and get students to write a response based on the AQA-endorsed structure on slide 25
  • Focus on Q5 and talk through the exemplar on slide 28
  • Possibly get students to craft the opening of a piece of extended writing using the structure on slide 31.

Hope the resources are useful –

Doug
