KS3 Twisted Tales Anthology of Short Stories

The anthology contains eight short stories with plot twists:

1. Tell-Tale Heart, by Edgar Allan Poe (1843)
2. The Story of an Hour, by Kate Chopin (1894) 
3. After Twenty Years, by O Henry (1906)
4. Ruthless, by William De Mille (1945)
5. Charles, by Shirley Jackson (1948)
6. Lamb to the Slaughter, by Roald Dahl (1953) 
7. Examination Day, by Henry Slesar (1958)
8. He-y, Come On Ou-t!, by Shinichi Hoshi (1971)

I’ve included line numbers to make the stories easier to read, follow and explore.

I’ve also included some brief information on plot twists and five big questions on the front page...

Finally, I’ve also put together a booklet of teacher notes to help with lesson and curriculum planning. For each story, I’ve included a plot summary, information on contextual factors and themes, notes on literary style, and a short vocabulary list. Example below...
